She has taken a public stance on gender equality and her organization, The HeForShe campaign, is dedicated to directly addressing the stereotype of feminism and encouraging both genders to work together to fight against gender discrimination. Additionally, Watson has toured the world on goodwill missions, speaking on the topics of improving education and ending poverty. She has served as a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN since 2014 and was commended for her speech at the UN in 2015 formalizing her commitment to the HeForShe campaign.  


Watson’s public persona has been a balance of refined and relatable since she became a household name in the mid-2000s. She is often depicted in magazines as a natural beauty, either for covering stories about her humanitarian efforts or for her fashion style. Watson also encourages fans to embrace their own personal style and not be swayed by what the media deems fashionable.
