Heath Streak Death: Cricketer Heath Streak is no more, his wife shared an emotional post, rumor of death spread 10 days ago

Heath Streak, the former captain of the Zimbabwe cricket team and the best all-rounder, has passed away. 

Cricketer Heath Streak is no more

Nadine, Streak's spouse, shared the sad news of the veteran player's passing through a heartfelt Facebook post. Former captain of Zimbabwe cricket team Heath Streak is no more. Streak, who was battling cancer, died on September 3 (Sunday). 

Streak's wife Nadine informed about the demise of this legendary player through a Facebook post. On August 23, the news of the death of 49-year-old Heath Streak was revealed, but it was then proved to be a rumor.

Nadine Streak wrote, 'Today (September 3) the greatest love of my life and father of my beautiful children was taken from his home to the Angels, where he was to spend his final days with family and closest loved ones. He radiated love and tranquility and never ventured outside without company. Our souls are united for eternity, Streaky.

Until I catch you again.'

Heath Streak made many records

Heath Streak made many records while playing for Zimbabwe which still stands today. Streak is still counted as the only Zimbabwean bowler to have taken more than 100 Test wickets and more than 200 ODI wickets.


During the challenging era of the 2000s, he assumed the captaincy of Zimbabwe amidst a turbulent period marked by numerous player withdrawals from the national team, a consequence of strained relations between the board and the players.


Heather Streak

Streak proudly donned the Zimbabwean colors in 65 Test matches and 189 ODIs spanning from 1993 to 2005. His impressive cricketing career saw him amass 1990 runs and secure 216 wickets in Test matches, while in the One Day Internationals, he contributed with 2943 runs and claimed 239 wickets.


He stepped down from his role as the captain of Zimbabwe in 2004 due to a disagreement with the board.  He concluded his international cricket career at the age of 31 in 2005. He also had a stint in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He played a significant role within the coaching staff of teams such as Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Gujarat Lions (GL). 

At the international level, Heath Streak also coached Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.


Henry Olanga had spread the rumor

On August 23, former Zimbabwe cricketer Henry Olanga spread rumors of Heath Streak's death by tweeting. After Henry Olanga's tweet, many cricketers started paying tribute to Heath Streak. Although,

Later he deleted this tweet. Subsequently, Olanga posted a screenshot of his conversation with Streak and conveyed, "I can affirm that the reports of Heath Streak's passing have been greatly exaggerated."  I have just spoken to him. The third umpire has called him back. He is very alive guys. '

ICC bans streak in 2021


In 2021, Heath Streak faced an eight-year ban from the ICC under the Anti-Corruption Code. While Streak maintained that he wasn't engaged in match-fixing attempts, he did acknowledge sharing insider information regarding international matches.
